But Evelyn and Arthur boutiques are about much more than just a nice place to shop. At the heart of their business model is giving back to the communities where they are located. Founded after Evelyn and Arthur Lewis re-located to Florida from New York, the company was handed down to the second generation when, in 2007, daughter Adrianne and son-in-law Fred Weissman took the helm. After a 2013 diagnosis of breast cancer, Adrianne decided to use her stores to give back. She has hosted a variety of fashion shows and pop up stores, often to sell items such as pashmina scarves in colors associated with charities like Susan G. Komen, the proceeds of which go to organizations that she, her employees or regular customers recommend.
